You may not know how the image is used
Some AI services may retain uploaded images or use submitted content to improve, develop or train their systems, depending on their terms and privacy policies. Deleting the photo from your phone does not necessarily delete the copy you uploaded.

Who will have your child's photograph?
AI companies can be sold, acquired or merged. The company handling your child's photograph today may not be the company handling it in the future. Once you hand the image over, you may have little control over who ultimately processes it.

Your child has not chosen this
Children cannot make an informed decision about their photographs being uploaded to commercial AI systems. A photograph supplied for a nursery or family purpose is very different from sending it to an unrelated AI platform.

AI can create realistic images of real people
Modern AI can manipulate photographs and create highly realistic synthetic images. Images can potentially be copied, altered or used to create content you never intended. A harmless-looking photograph today could potentially be used for something completely different tomorrow.
